In memory of Patrick BerryEWADE Member Patrick Berry Passed AwayIt is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed colleague, Patrick Berry. Known for his kindness and generosity, Patrick's passion for sharing his knowledge left an indelible impact on everyone around him – colleagues at Saab and students at Linköping University alike.After earning his master's degree in mechanical engineering from Linköping University in 1975, Patrick began his career in Saab's aeronautics division, focusing on airframe design. He then specialized in landing gear design and was responsible for the landing gear systems of the SAAB 340, SAAB 2000, and JAS39 Gripen. From there, he moved to Saab's Advanced Design Group, where over several decades, he played a central role in the conceptual development of both civil and military aircraft. As a dedicated teacher at Linköping University, Patrick was instrumental in elevating the aeronautical engineering program to international acclaim. His curiosity and deep technical knowledge inspired countless students, fostering a new generation of engineers who carry forward his legacy of excellence and passion for learning. We will remember Patrick not only for his remarkable professional achievements but also for his warmth and unwavering commitment to nurturing others.
