Aerospace Science and Technology (AST)
Journal description
The merger of La Recherche Aérospatiale and ZFW (Zeitschrift für Flugwissenschaften und Weltraumforschung),
both leading journals in France and Germany, gave birth to Aerospace Science and Technology.
Published by a bi-national editorial team under the auspices of the national research establishments ONERA and DLR in cooperation with the DGLR.
In 1999, four other European research establishments have joined ONERA and DLR/DGLR within AST:
CIRA (Italy), INTA (Spain), NLR (The Netherlands) and FFA (Sweden),
giving the journal a dimension truly representative of the weight of European countries within the aerospace research community.
Aerospace Science and Technology publishes articles of outstanding scientific quality.
Each article is reviewed by two referees. The journal welcomes papers from a wide range of countries.
This journal publishes original papers and review articles related to all fields of aerospace research,
from fundamental research to industrial applications for the design and the manufacture of aircraft,
helicopters, missiles, launchers and satellites.

Aerospace Science and Technology publishes articles of outstanding scientific quality. Each article is reviewed by two referees. The journal welcomes papers from a wide range of countries.
This journal publishes original papers, review articles and short communications related to all fields of aerospace research, fundamental and applied, potential applications of which are clearly related to:
• The design and the manufacture of aircraft, helicopters, missiles, launchers and satellites
• The control of their environment
• The study of various systems they are involved in, as supports or as targets.

As can be seen from the second text describing the journal, no mention is made anymore about any affiliation to a national research establishment or to DGLR.
Information from DGLR: The affiliation with AST was stopped when the CEAS Journals were started in 2011.
Warning: I was given detailed account by an author who had a very negative experience with this journal.
Please be careful, if the review process drags on too long, you may consider to quit early enough.
